Fred Hammond released Somethin’ ‘Bout Love in 2004. It features the popular tracks, A Closer Walk and Your Love Is. However, What Can I Give, How Do You Love That Way, Make Time for Love, and Your Name Is Jesus are also bona fide!
Jodeci comes in 12th on my playlist, The Best R&B Ever, with My Heart Belongs to U. This list is not in any specific order. However, make sure you like, comment, and share. I will rank the playlist in fan favorite order, by number of total votes, once we get to 100 songs. I included this song on the playlist, because Jodeci was one of the most iconic R&B groups of the 90s. And this track was one of my favorites.
Beyond is the 11th track on my playlist, The Best R&B Ever. Bridges gives us a touch of old in the new era of R&B. I included this song on the playlist, because I’m old school at heart. This track is a flashback to early R&B singers. It’s also the type of love story that has a touch of old school.
Love in This Club, Part II is the 10th track on my playlist, The Best R&B Ever. Like the 9th track, this is another Usher track that is not intended for young audiences. It’s for grown people to do what grown people do, but it’s more fantasy than reality. I included this song on the playlist because it’s a flashback to college days. You want to be irresponsible and fulfill the wildest pleasures that come to your imagination. However, you know that actions have consequences. This song allows you to fantasize, while avoiding the consequences of life.
Love You Gently is the 9th track on my playlist, The Best R&B Ever. This song is not intended for young audiences. It’s for grown people to do what grown people do. Usher’s vocal talent has been evident for decades. He has a ton of tracks that I like. However, I included this song on the playlist because the banter of the lead and background vocals is genius for this track. It’s very flirtatious and a perfect arrangement for foreplay. That’s the entire point of the song.
