I included this song on the playlist, because Jodeci was one of the most iconic R&B groups of the 90s. And this track was one of my favorites.
Before I Let Go is the 7th track on my playlist, The Best R&B Ever. I included this song on the playlist because it makes me think about summertime, family, and fun. It’s upbeat R&B that makes you want to dance. Ironically, this is a breakup song. Nevertheless, it makes you feel good. I guess Frankie Beverly came to the conclusion that he was doing the right thing in letting her go, because he had fun with this track from start to finish.
Always was Pebbles’s sophomore album, which peaked at #12 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Albums list. It stayed on the charts for 52 weeks. Its album titled track, “Always” was on the charts for 16 weeks and peaked at #13.
“Get Up On It” was also featured on Keith Sweat album with the same name. This track spent 20 weeks on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. “Get Up On It” eventually peaked at #12 on November 12, 1994.
Mental health garners a tremendous amount of attention is today’s society. “Don’t Change” was ahead of its time, considering the psychological significance of someone loving you just the way you are. Everyone needs to hear the words, “Don’t change! I want you just the way you are,” from someone who really means it.
