Beyond is the 11th track on my playlist, The Best R&B Ever. Bridges gives us a touch of old in the new era of R&B. I included this song on the playlist, because I’m old school at heart. This track is a flashback to early R&B singers. It’s also the type of love story that has a touch of old school.
Location is the 8th track on my playlist, The Best R&B Ever. Khalid’s voice has a unique baritenor timbre. I love the way his vocals blend with the band sound and the subtle call and response, background vocals. I included this song on the playlist because the arrangement has a good vibe with a good degree of musical complexity.
The Come and See Me & Location Mashup is the 6th track on my playlist, The Best R&B Ever. Like the 5th track, it features two powerful and rich R&B voices that blend together really well. However, unlike the effortless blending of legendary voices in the 5th track, this creative mashup features a high level of individual talent, with two young artists sharing the spotlight together.
Special is the 3rd track on my “The Best R&B Ever” playlist. I included this song because of the melody. And for some reason, it reminds me of the years that I spent on active duty.
“Part of Me” is rightfully named. It grabs your heart. It wakes you up, because you know you are linked to someone out of obligation. You are not with the one that you truly love. And it makes you want to fight for the one that you truly love, so the pain of separation ends. You will feel this song, if you have been madly in love with someone that life prevented you from being with.
